What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files that are stored on your device when you visit a website. They allow certain settings or information to be saved so that the website functions correctly or so that your usage behaviour can be analysed.
Our philosophy: as little as possible
Peakvelop is committed to privacy-friendly operations. We use no tracking cookies and no advertising cookies. Our web analytics run via Matomo in cookieless mode — no cookies are stored on your device during the process. A cookie consent banner is therefore not required for our own analytics purposes.
Which cookies do we use?
1. Technically necessary cookies
These cookies are strictly required for the operation of the website and our browser games. Without them, core functions such as login, game progress, or the shopping cart cannot work. They are set on the basis of Art. 6(1)(b) and (f) GDPR and do not require separate consent.
Session cookies
Temporary cookies stored only for the duration of your visit and automatically deleted when you close your browser. They are used to keep you logged in during a gaming session and to save your in-session game progress.
Authentication cookies
When you log in to your Peakvelop account, a cookie is set to maintain your login session. This cookie is deleted upon logout or after a defined period of inactivity.
Preference cookies
Store your preferences such as language selection, volume settings, or graphics options so you don’t have to reconfigure them on every visit.
2. Third-party cookies
When using certain features — especially during payment processes — cookies may be set by third-party providers. These are subject to the privacy policies of the respective providers.
🔒 Cloudflare (CDN & Security)
We use Cloudflare as a CDN provider for the security and performance of our website. In our current configuration, Cloudflare does not set any cookies on your device. Cloudflare processes technical connection data (IP address, request metadata) exclusively at the network level.

💳 Stripe & PayPal (only during active payment)
Cookies from these payment providers are set exclusively when you actively initiate a payment process in one of our browser games. They are technically necessary for the secure processing of the transaction (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) and are not set during regular browsing of our website. During a standard page visit, neither Stripe nor PayPal store any cookies on your device.

What we explicitly do not use
- ❌ Tracking cookies (e.g. Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel)
- ❌ Advertising or retargeting cookies
- ❌ Cookies for the creation of user profiles
- ❌ Cookies from social media integrations on the website (social media profiles are external pages)
- ❌ Google Fonts or Font Awesome via external servers — both are hosted locally on our server and do not set cookies
